Social media platforms are powerful marketing tools for travel business owners. Social media allows you to reach new people, build brand awareness, create relationships with your customers and so much more!
But getting started as a business on social can also be daunting. How do you know where to begin? How do you find your audience?
Today, we’re bringing you 5 quick tips to jump-start your agency’s social media marketing.
Tip #1: Pick Your Networks
Before you start planning what to post, you need to decide which social networks you want to focus on. Facebook and Instagram are often the first two that come to mind and they’re good places to start. Twitter is also a good option, but it’s more text-focused than the other two. And of course, TikTok is a hot new option that’s great for sharing travel videos with the world.
Tip #2: Set Up Your Pages Consistently
Take some time to set up your business pages the right way. Use consistent branding and messaging across all sites and use the same account name if possible (it should be the name of your biz). You should also add cover photos, fill out contact info and have a clear link to your website.
Tip #3: Create Compelling Content
Now, it’s time to create some content. It’s important to get a few initial posts up on all platforms so no one sees a blank page when they visit. Make these posts vibrant and engaging, showing off the best of what you do. You can also consider pinning a post to the top of each feed.
Tip #4: Post Consistently
Much like your favorite TV show, your posting schedule should be consistent. If you post 4 times a week every week for several months, people will come to expect something from you at those times. However, as with all things on social media, it's important not to overthink this and make yourself crazy trying to stick too closely to some arbitrary number of posts per day or week.
Tip #5: Give It Time
Social media marketing is a marathon, not a sprint. You’ll have a much better chance of achieving your goals if you pace yourself. Your goal is to build a community of followers who trust you and will return to your pages for valuable travel information and advice.
Give your audience time to become familiar with your brand and your business. The last thing you want is for someone to visit your social media profile once, see that it’s all spammy self-promotion and never come back.
Social media is a powerful tool for connecting with your audience. In fact, social media can be one of the most important marketing tools for your business. With the right strategy, you can use social media to grow your following and build loyalty. It can also help you make sales, find customers and clients and gain traction for your business.
